ur Society is a non-profit organization promoting and developping genealogical research; history of families and of Quebec in general.

Genealogits started gathering in Rimouski, in 1950. But the "Société Généalogique de l'Est du Québec" was incorporated only on August 13th 1979.

e are located at "Bibliothèque-Lisette-Morin",110, rue de l'Evêché Est, and have close to 500 members.

ince 1982, we publish a quarterly bulletin called "L'Estuaire généalogique".

n November 1999, preoccupied with the safekeeping of our national patrimony, we created a new entity: "La Société de généalogie et d'archives de Rimouski" to encourage preservation, bequeath and developement of family archives.
