Church of Ste-Catherine in La Flotte
Aime Thibault photographed next to the church of Sainte-Catherine de La Flotte, Ile de Re, in 1967. It was on this occasion that Aime and Pierrette decided to pursue further research concerning the descendants of Francois Thibault.

A commemorative plaque was installed in the church of Sainte-Catherine de la Flotte, Ile de Re during the first Thibault group visit in June 1993.

BURGUNDY

Church of St. Thibault.
Hamlet connected to Sancerre in Burgundy.
The church was constructed toward the end
of the XIIIth century, and collapsed almost entirely in 1686.
It was completely reconstructed in the XVIIIth century.
Its doors, sculped of fine XVth century wood,
are quite impressive.

The Thibaults were officially received at the Fontenay-le-Comte town hall
in Poitou in June 1993.
