 M.Denis Tessier, of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Quebec sees the importance of starting an association regrouping all roots of the Tessier dit Lavigne's, following a Tessier reunion held October 16th, 1999 at Buffet Newport organized by Mr. Charles Tessier of Brossard, Quebec.
 Denis then contacts Charles to obtain the list of people who signed in, at the reunion. Then the persons who had expressed interest in forming a committee or a Tessier Family Association, were contacted.
Inquiries where made to the Fédération des Familles-souches Québecoises Inc. (Quebec families roots federation) and representives of Fréchette, Lehoux and Courtemanche association on creating a family association.
A meeting was held November, 6th, 1999 in Brossard and a founder's committee was named for the Tessier Family Association. The association includes 16 roots of Tessier's which are listed further. |
