Background
The Association was granted provincial registration, under Part III of the Québec Companies Act, on September 14, 1994. The first general meeting, of some 600 members, was held on September 3, 1995 at Ste-Anne-de-La-Pocatière (Qc). Our Coat of Arms was presented to the Association by the Heraldic Authority of Canada on October 12, 1997
The Association is a member of the Fédération des Familles-souches québécoises and uses the abbreviation AFROY-A.
