This activity will be held on Sunday August 24, 2008, in Québec City.

It is more of a walk than a
race.
o
It is a 42.2 km (26.4 miles) marathon relay race in which 2 participants of
the same family cover 2 km.(1.25 mi); they then hand over, to the next two
participants, a flag bearing the colours of the Association; these next
participants will in turn cover 2 km; and so on, until the 39th km.
A shuttle service will ensure that the participants are deployed throughout the
circuit.

Ideally, 44
participants are required to cover the 42.2 km. The last 3 km will be covered
by all the participants of the family and those of all the families in
attendance. So, everyone will have covered
approximately 5 km (3 miles).

The objective of the marathon
race organisers and of the Fédération des familles souches du Québec is to
create a gigantic gathering of members of 100 families.

The participation cost is $30
per person. Each «marathon racer» will receive:

An official T-shirt
of the event
o
A souvenir medallion will be given to all those who will cross
the finish line
o
Refreshments during
the event and at the finish line.

Jacques Normand will act as chief of mission for our Association.
André Normand will assist him.
