L'Esperon is well identified under letter M in the 1292
Census of Paris; it is the oldest known document at this time refering
to our family name.

Moriset, as per records going back to 1432,
constructed a furnace in the village of Crétaz for smelting iron
ore. Crétaz is located in Cogne valley, one of the 13 valleys of
Valle of Aosta in north of Italy, near France. Daniela Platania
published his biography in 2003 (ISBN 88-87214-59-X) in a book of 141 pages.
La Moricet,
a boat under commander Anthoine de Conflans, was used by the French-Breton
fleet of the King Louis XII at the time of a naval action against England
in 1512.
