The two commemorative plates to the Morissette ancestors were unveiled
during the Trip to France made in September
2001. They were manufactured in Quebec as per the specifications received
from the towns of Surgeres and Thouarsais-Bouildroux.
The commemorative plate to the ancestor Jean
Moricet/Morisset is made of rose marble and measures 33 cm x
20 cm x 1,5 cm. It was manufactured by Monuments B.M. Inc. of Rimouski,
Qc. It was unveiled in Surgeres on September 13/ 2001 in the presence of
the mayor Guilloteau and the assistant-mayor Catherine Desprez. It was
installed in the gardens of the Surgeres Castle, closed to the Renaissance
Gate. Surgeres is the city where Jean Moricet was born in 1641.

The commemorative plate to the ancestor Mathurin
Moricet/Morisset is made of bronze and measures 40 cm
x 30 cm. It was manufactured by Fonderie D'Art Héritage Inc. of
Lévis, Qc. It was unveiled in Thouarsais-Bouildroux on Septembre
15/2001 in the presence of the mayor Edmond Soulard. It was installed on
a wall of the city hall of Thouarsais-Bouildroux, the city where Mathurin
Moricet was born in 1648.
