The Coat of Arms
GOSSELIN FAMILIES ASSOCIATION
OF NORTH AMERICA

This family organization has it's Headquarters at St-Laurent, Island of Orleans where Gabriel Gosselin, the ancestor, settled and still has numerous descendants.
In Quebec, in Canada and in the United States, the Island of Orleans is renowned for it's vast apple orchards. Moreover, the ancestor Gabriel hailed from Normandy, the country form the Calvados, a very famous cider extracted from the apple. All this has been incorporated in the coat of arms as follows:
At the bottom lies the Island of Orleans where came the large Quebec Gosselin family which is represented at the center by a large apple tree topped by the Fleur de Lys of Quebec.
On each side, a small apple tree:
a) The first one represents the Gosselin branches which have spread
throughout the rest of Canada, hence the Canadian maple leaf.
b) The other represents the lineages which have branched out in the U.S.A.
Hence The American Star.
The term used to represent the ascendants and/or the descendants of an ancestor is:
"THE GENEALOGICAL TREE"
Symbolized here by the apple tree
"THE GENEALOGICAL LINEAGES"
Are symbolized by the apple
On summing up, the purpose of our association
is to unite all living descendants of the ancestor Gabriel Gosselin so that we may know,
remember and better love one another.
Hence our motto: to unite in brotherly love.
MOST IMPORTANT
The Gosselin family of North America are the rightful owners of this coat of arms. Nevertheless, all descendants of the ancestor Gabriel Gosselin may have the use of it as best they see fit.
