Creation

In a meeting held on April 29, 1995, a decision was taken by a group of 9 people to start a family association to gather together all the Gareaus and their spouses.

The founding members are:

Each participants made a special contribution of $20 to the AFG, to establish a starting fund. The group immediately  began a recruitment campaign.

Commemorative Plaque

Our commemorative plaque, officially unveilled on May 2, 1997, was produced by the AFG thanks to the generosity of G.-Robert Gareau to pay a tribute to the first Gareaus, Boucherville pioneers, to establish a family line in New-France. The plaque is monted on a stand in front Boucherville City Hall on De La Rivière-aux-Pins street.
