| François Frigon was born around 1650. He arrived in Canada in 1664 or 1665. The census of 1667 lists him in the "district" of Trois-Rivières, Le Cap and la Touche-Champlain, as an engagé (hired man) of Michel Peltier dit Laprade. In november of 1670, François Frigon dit Lespagnol married Marie-Claude Chamois. François Frigon settled in Batiscan and alternated between farming and fur-trading trips The census of 1681 gives this information about the Frigon-Chamois couple: Between 1670 and 1685, François Frigon and Marie-Claude Chamois had six children. m. According to the PRDH, she died at the age of 7.

Batiscan, at 26 years of age. François Frigon dit Lespagnol was buried in Saint-François-Xavier-de-Batiscan (today called Batiscan), on May 13, 1724. According to the PRDH (Programme de recherche en démographie historique), he died at the age of 75. |
