François DUMAS, ploughman

François DUMAS, son of Jean and Marie RICHARD, was born in the diocese of Cahors around 1722. It is not known when he arrived in New France. On 23 November 1761, he married Marie Anne Reine BOURHIS (or BOULERICE) in Terrebonne. He died on 8 January 1812 and was interred on the 10th of the same month in Saint-Paul-de-Lavaltrie.

Marie Anne Reine, daughter of Yves BOURHIS and Marie Marthe LÉTARD "SAINT-ONGE", was born in Chambly on 5 December 1726. She died on 30 March 1805 and was interred the next day in Saint-Paul-de-Lavaltrie. Two of the five children (a son and a daughter) of the DUMAS-BOURHIS couple got married. The son François had eight children but doesn't seem to have had any grandchildren. The daughter Marie, however, married Jacques CHARBONNEAU and had ten children, most of which left a posterity.

The progeny of Marie DUMAS and Jacques CHARBONNEAU appears to be the only posterity of this DUMAS ancestor. Family of François DUMAS
