History of the families Cazeau and
Casault in Canada and the United States
This site is devoted to all families whose name is related
similarly in some way to the patronyms Cazeau and Casault, whether there is a relationship
or not, whatever the origins are : French, Spanish or Italian. We will focus nevertheless
on the two families of French origin, namely Jean Casaux (Bascout), originally of Béarn,
and that of Jean-Baptiste Casault, originally of Normandy.
Recently, there has been considerable reseach
undertaken by us in France, the United States and Canada regarding the Cazeau-Casault
families. We have even probed into old records at the original sources in France. Results
presented on this site are the fruit of this collaboration. I am indebted to Russ Brannen
of Bay Village, Ohio, Frank Muraski of Cleveland, Ohio, Charles Cazeau of Deary, Idaho,
Richard Casault of Seattle, Washington, Henri Cazeault, of Terrebonne, residing now in
France, and René Casault of Ottawa, Ontario.
