Questions |
Question 1.
We find one named Baptiste Bisson among the voyagers accompanied Alexander MacKenzie on his expedition toward the Pacific: Who was this Baptiste Bisson ?
Let us establish certain facts:
The hypothesis put forward by Antonio Bisson (#42): this
Charles Doucet, who becomes the father-in-law of Jean Baptiste
Bisson, is the same person that accompanied Alexander MacKenzie
on the two exploratory voyages. This Jean Baptiste Bisson, the
one who become the son-in-law, accompanied them on the second
expedition, toward the Pacific.
If you have elements of information to clarify Antonio's
hypothesis, please e-mail the ABA. Thanks..

Question 5.
In my Jolin genealogy (paternal grand-mother) Antoine Jolin et
Marguerite Jolin (2 children of Michel Jolin + Émilie Thibodeau)
married a Césarie Bisson and Jean-Baptiste Bisson.
Either : Antoine Jolin, born November 4, 1830 at
Sainte-Marie de Beauce, died July 24, 1922 à St-Hénédine,
married on September 8, 1857 at St-Hénédine, Dorchester, to
Césarie Bisson (daughter of Etienne Bisson et Hélène Vachon)
who died June 25, 1906 à St-Hénédine, at about 66 years of
age. Do you know the place and date of birth for Césarie
Bisson?
AND: Marguerite Jolin, born December 11, 1836 at
Sainte-Marie de Beauce, married on February 23, 1857 at
St-Hénédine to Jean-Baptiste Bisson (son of Étienne Bisson et
Hélène Vachon).
Do you know the date of burial for Marguerite Jolin? The place
and date of birth of Jean-Baptiste Bisson ? The place and date of
death of Jean-Baptiste Bisson?
Yoland Roy, Beauce
Answer 5.
Jean-Baptiste Bisson, son of Étienne Bisson et Hélène
Vachon, was born and baptized December 10, 1825 at St-Joseph de
Beauce. He is twin with a sister, who married August 13, 1850 at
Ste-Marie de Beauce to Thomas Hébert, son of François-Régis
Hébert, a farmer and Émilie Thibodeau, of Sainte-Marie de
Beauce. I don't have the death information for Jean-Baptiste and
Marguerite Jolin. It's after May 7, 1884, date of death for their
son Edmond, at 17 years and 5 months, at Ste-Marie de Beauce.
Marie-Marthe Bisson, (100), Pont Rouge.
Question 6.
I want to know more about the character of Louis Bisson.
Hence, here's what I know : Louis Bisson was single. He was the
son of François Bisson and Angélique Bélanger. He would have
been born at Ste-Marie de Beauce around the year 1840. He
purchased land in Montréal, land which was re-sold in favor of a
railroad and depot at Bonaventure. I don't know the year of this
station was established. I also would like to know the date of
death and his age at the time. If any member have more
information, I would be very thankful.
Gabrielle Bisson, C.N.D. (111), Sherbrooke.
Question 7.
Among my research on the Internet, I found mention of a Bisson lady in the pages of «The Fort Dearborn Massacre». According to the text, this Bisson lady is the half-breed sister of the spouse of a mister Ouilmette. A message that showed up on Genforum says that this Bisson lady is the sister of Archange Chevalier, spouse of Antoine Pouimet, and their parents are Pieriche Chevalier and Copa (a Potawatomi Indian). Would you have more accurate information this individual (Chevalier) and spouse (Bisson)? (Michel Bisson, (089))
Question 8.
I'm researching for the marriage and names of the parents of François Bisson, spouse of Henriette Leblond, daughter of Jean-Baptiste Leblond and Olive Gosselin (November 03, 1852 at St-Lazare). They baptized a son, Didier-Alfred Bisson the eve of July 15, 1875 at N.-D.-Auxiliatrice-de-Buckland. The godfather is Goupil and the godmother is the aunt Henriette Bisson. Is there a real marriage or is this child illegitimate? What became of this son? Were there other children from this couple?
Henriette married June 26, 1883 at Showegan, Maine, USA a
Olivier Picard, widow of Joséphine Lavigne. On March 3, 1889,
she married Pierre Labrecque at Winthrop, Maine. On June 2,
1902,also at Winthrop, she married Olivier Dostie, widow of
'Appoline Fortin.

Question 9.
My godfather was called Ovila Bisson. I' trying to complete his genealogical tree and I'm hitting a brick wall. I have the following information:
I would like to have the place and date of this last marriage.
Jules Lalancette
Answer 9.
The only information that we have on this marriage is the place, it's Sainte-Foy. However, the first name of Marie Cayer (Caillé) spouse is Thierry. It's possible that this is the same person since Joseph is a first name that nearly all men carry.
Question 10.
Among the 58 deported to Australia, after the rebellion of 1837-1838, we find the name Constant Bisson (Buisson). According to various sources, he was a married man, father of three children, living at Sainte-Martine. He was 28 or 30 year old. He was a summoning officer and blacksmith. His exile in Australia lasted 6 years.. He returned to Canada in January of 1845.
I would like to know he is the son of whom? Are there other descendants other than the three daughters mentioned in certain documents? Did he have any brothers and sisters? All the information that would allow us to better know this man will be appreciated..
