MIGRATION
ligne

In the first three generations, all the Bérubés settled in their hometown, according to a 1762 census. By the next generation, we found some Bérubés at Madawaska, Rivière-du-Loup and Kamouraska. Between 1727 and 1793, six Bérubés were buried in "Berceau of Kamouraska". And so the exodus from Rivière-Ouelle towards the new parishes downriver started and was to continue at an ever increasing rate during the rest of the XIXth siecle.(1)

The Bérubés increased in number and migrated. They can be found in all regions of Québec, the Maritimes Provinces, Western Canada, New England, and many other regions of the United States.

During our reunions, we have associated with both American and European Bérubés. Many of these Bérubés are members and promote the Association in their own countries.
