de la Gaspésie et des Îles-de-la-Madeleine 105th AnniversaryAt Saint-Rene de Matane, on the 11th and 12th of October, the descendants of Napoleon Dancause celebrated the 105th anniversary of Marie-Louise Berube-Dancause. She was born at St-Leandre and, after the death of her mother, she was raised by the couple Gonzaque Belzile. She taught at St-Ulric and after her marriage to Napoleon, they establish themselves in St-Leandre, then at St-Ulric and, finally, they acquire a lot at St-Nil. While her husband worked in a lumber mill, she succeeded in clearing 3 acres of land per year, in order to retain the possession of the lot, all while raising twelve children. To learn the history of the jubelee you can consult the article written in French and published in 2008 in "La Voix du dimanche". | ||
